<h3><b><b><b>Job Description Summary</b></b></b></h3>The Tools & Software Strategic Focal for the Military Engineering Sciences Operations organization will lead the strategy, coordination, and execution of engineering tools and software initiatives that enable improved productivity, compliance, technical rigor, and program execution across the organization. This role serves as the key interface between Military Engineering Sciences, Digital Technology, tool owners, and functional stakeholders to ensure engineering teams have the right toolsets, roadmaps, governance, and support models in place.<br>The ideal candidate combines technical depth, strategic thinking, and cross-functional leadership to align software and tools investments with business priorities, engineering needs, and compliance requirements. This person will drive standardization, prioritize enhancements, support deployment and adoption, and help translate organizational needs into actionable digital solutions.<h3><b>Job Description</b></h3><p><b>Roles and Responsibilities</b></p><ul>
<li>Serve as the <b>strategic focal</b> for engineering tools and software across the Military Engineering Sciences organization.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain the <b>tools/software roadmap</b> aligned to organizational priorities, program needs, and long-term capability goals.</li>
<li>Partner with engineering leaders, users, DT, cybersecurity, quality, sourcing and program teams to identify tool gaps, integration opportunities, and improvement priorities.</li>
<li>Lead coordination for <b>tool selection, deployment, enhancement, sustainment, and retirement</b> activities.</li>
<li>Gather, prioritize, and translate business and technical requirements into clear development or implementation plans.</li>
<li>Drive <b>standardization and harmonization</b> of tools, processes, and usage practices where appropriate.</li>
<li>Support software governance activities including licensing, access considerations, compliance alignment, export control awareness, and configuration/change management.</li>
<li>Monitor tool performance, user adoption, pain points, and value realization; define and track relevant metrics.</li>
<li>Facilitate communication between end users and tool owners to resolve issues, elevate risks, and accelerate decisions.</li>
<li>Support training, documentation, standard work, and change management to improve adoption and effective use of tools.</li>
<li>Coordinate across programs and functions to ensure tools support <b>technical reviews, analyses, data management, reporting, and execution needs</b>.</li>
<li>Prepare leadership updates, status reports, business cases, and recommendations for strategic decisions related to engineering software/tools investments.</li>
<li>Apply SQDC prioritization within leader standard work to drive tool strategy alignment with safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.</li>
