Job Description
<h3><b>Position Overview</b></h3>As an extension of the providers care team, the Remote RN is responsible for providing telephone communication and assessment of patient's needs. This requires the application of a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents relating to both the standards and procedures of the nursing profession and those established by UHS. The remote nurse provides communication and advice and follow-up education consistent with the patient's age and cultural needs. The remote nurse responds to patient's inquiries, prioritizing responses and routing urgent situations to the appropriate provider. The remote nurse maintains accurate and appropriate documentation and follows patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and UHS policies and procedures while working from a secure, private remote location.<h3>Primary Department, Division, or Unit:</h3>UHS Heart and Vascular Institute Johnson City<h3>Primary Work Shift:</h3>Day<h3>Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours:</h3>40<h3>Compensation Range:</h3>$33.63 - $50.45 per hour, depending on experience<h3>-----</h3><h3>Education/Experience</h3><h3>Minimum Required:</h3><ul><li>Graduate of an accredited school of registered Nursing.</li><li>At a minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum.</li><li>Annual Health Assessment required if the RN is working “in person” at any UHS location.</li></ul><h3>Preferred:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in nursing</li><li>Previous telephone triage experience.</li><li>Previous experience in a walk-in/primary care/specialty care office setting.</li><li>Knowledge of Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, CMS and Article 28 standards.</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs.</li></ul><h3><b>License/Certification</b></h3><h3>Minimum Required:</h3><ul><li>Current NY State RN license</li></ul><h3>Preferred</h3><ul><li>CPR certification must be maintained if the RN will be working “in person” at any UHS location</li></ul><h3>-----</h3><h3><b>Why You’ll Love Working at UHS</b></h3><p style="text-align:left">At <a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/united-health-services">United Health Services</a> (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
