Let’s face it: designing, launching, and managing infrastructure is still a terrible experience for most organizations, but it doesn’t have to be that way!</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">We are globally recognized both for our open source tools used by thousands of companies from startups to Fortune 500s, and our thought leadership on how DevOps should be done.</p><h3>About this role:</h3><p style="min-height:1.5em"><a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/gruntwork">Gruntwork</a> is hiring a senior Golang engineer to focus specifically on Open Source projects, primarily OpenTofu but also other open source tools at <a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/gruntwork">Gruntwork</a>.</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Work collaboratively with the open source community to design and implement innovative new features at the frontier of DevOps tooling</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Help maintain and improve the quality of our codebases, infrastructure, and documentation</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Review and provide feedback on pull requests from the community and team members</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em">This is a contractor position, paid based on an hourly rate. We expect an average of 25-35 hours of work per week up to 35 hours (based on your availability and skill level) however, you have the ability to control when you work (assuming you coordinate this with your colleagues on the OpenTofu development team).</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">Although you would start as a contractor, this role sets up a path to full-time employment with <strong><a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/gruntwork">Gruntwork</a></strong> when future positions open up, if that’s of interest to you.</p><h3>Qualifications for Success:</h3><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Golang</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proven experience with open source projects, ideally in a leadership role</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Must have strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and are comfortable engaging with external members of the open source community as well as <strong><a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/gruntwork">Gruntwork</a></strong> customers</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">You're interested in working a flexible number of hours that averages ~25-35<br>hours/week and are available ~48 weeks per year to work those hours</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">You have read our <a rel="nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.gruntwork.io/about#our-values" target="_blank">company values</a>, and are aligned with them</p></li></ul><h3>About
