Closing date: 12 Sep 2026 Responsibilities and Duties Clean, prepare, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment in accordance with approved procedures and standards. Receive, sort, and prepare used medical instruments and supplies for cleaning and sterilization. Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization cycles according to approved operating procedures. Verify the effectiveness of sterilization processes using chemical and biological indicators in accordance with established procedures. Prepare and package medical instruments and equipment prior to sterilization in a manner that ensures their safety and maintains sterility. Store sterilized instruments and supplies in an organized and safe manner. Monitor the validity and integrity of sterilized items and ensure they are protected from contamination. Prepare and distribute sterilized instruments to different departments according to their needs. Strictly adhere to infection prevention and control and occupational safety procedures when handling contaminated instruments. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area and work equipment. Accurately document sterilization processes, cycles, tests, and required records. Report any malfunction of sterilization equipment or any issue that may affect the safety and effectiveness of the sterilization process. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures and infection prevention and control standards. Perform any other related duties within the scope of practice according to the needs of the department. Qualifications and Requirements Previous experience in a Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) or infection prevention and control. Good knowledge of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization methods for medical instruments. Ability to operate and monitor various sterilization equipment. Strict adherence to infection prevention and control and occupational safety procedures. Ability to work effectively within a team and under pressure. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility when handling medical instruments. Willingness to work shifts according to the hospital’s needs.
