As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.</p><p>We are seeking <strong>Virtual Construction Students </strong>for our Toronto district, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are <strong>available for 4 or 8 months starting September 2026.</strong></p><p>As a <strong>Virtual Construction Student</strong> and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:</p></div><div><div><div><h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3></div><div><ul style="list-style-type:disc"><li>Sketching site plans using a JPG underlay (raster image) in AutoCAD</li><li>Key planning development for construction schedules and site layout documents which can include: site safety, site access, site trailers, temporary electricity, hoist access, crane swing, demolition etc.</li><li>Tower crane and man/material hoist working drawings including plans, elevations and sections</li><li>Formatting plot styles and various AutoCAD settings for desired design effects</li><li>Creating a job report binder for their supervisor that requires immediate updates when available</li><li>Creating new work order forms</li><li>Becoming familiar with building information modeling (BIM) software such as Autodesk, NavisWorks, ArchiCAD/Constructor, Revit, 3D Studio Max, Sketchup etc; and</li><li>Becoming familiar with scheduling programs Navisworks and Primavera P6 EPPM</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3></div><div><ul style="list-style-type:disc"><li>Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.</li><li>Good working knowledge of AutoCAD</li><li>Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.</li></ul><h3>Next Step:</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc"><li>Please note that candidates who have been selected to move forward to the next stage of the recruitment process will receive an email to complete a short online video interview</li></ul></div></div></div><p>The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.34, based on your experience and qualifications.
