We enable developers and security teams to ship secure software faster through visibility,automation, and actionable security intelligence.</p><p>We are looking for a strong <strong>Backend Engineer</strong> to join our Security Research group. This is a high-impact <strong>individual contributor role</strong> where you will:</p><ul><li>Work closely with security researchers</li><li>Turn prototypes, scrapers, and research pipelines into scalable production systems</li><li>Own projects end-to-end: design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance</li><li>Build systems powering open-source intelligence and security research efforts</li></ul><h3>Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Design and build scalable backend systems and data pipelines</li><li>Transform research prototypes into production-grade services</li><li>Work with large datasets and high-scale systems</li><li>Collaborate closely with security researchers and engineers</li><li>Ensure reliability, performance, and maintainability of services</li><li>Contribute to architecture decisions and system design</li><li>Leverage AI/LLMs and automation tools to improve engineering workflows</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>5+ years of backend development experience (Python, JavaScript, or similar)</li><li>Experience building and operating production SaaS services</li><li>Strong experience with high-scale systems and large datasets</li><li>Ability to independently drive projects end-to-end</li><li>Experience designing scalable architectures and data pipelines</li><li>Strong problem-solving and builder mindset</li><li>Comfortable using AI tools / LLMs in development workflows</li></ul><h3>Nice to Have (Bonus Points):</h3><ul><li>Experience at a cybersecurity startup</li><li>Malware analysis or reverse engineering (obfuscation, encryption, sandboxing, time-bombs)</li></ul><p>Originally posted on <a href="https://himalayas.app">Himalayas</a></p>
