<div><strong>The Role:</strong><br><br><p>As a freelance infrastructure finance reporter based in Sydney, you will produce high-quality, exclusive journalism on infrastructure investment activity across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.</p><p>The role will focus on producing on-and-off record market intelligence focused on greenfield project finance, new project developments, public-private partnerships (PPP’s), infrastructure fund strategies, as well as break news on M&A and debt transactions — always ahead of public announcements. You will deliver both real-time reporting and deeper analysis for institutional investors, lenders, developers, and advisory firms.</p><h3>Core sector coverage includes:</h3><ul type="disc"><li>Power generation (thermal, renewables, storage) and transmission</li><li>Energy transition and decarbonisation projects</li><li>Transport infrastructure (roads, rail, airports, ports)</li><li>Logistics and supply chain assets</li><li>Digital infrastructure (data centres, fibre, telecom towers)</li><li>Water and social infrastructure</li></ul></div><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><ul type="disc"><li>Produce a consistent pipeline of exclusive articles and analysis on infrastructure finance transactions and investment trends in Australia and APAC</li><li>Break news on project finance deals, M&A processes, debt/equity fundraising, and secondary market activity</li><li>Build and maintain a strong regional network of sources including:</li><ul type="circle"><li>Project developers and sponsors</li><li>Infrastructure and pension funds</li><li>Banks and private credit investors</li><li>Government stakeholders and policymakers</li><li>Legal and financial advisors</li><li>Interview senior decision-makers, including C-suite executives, fund managers and originators</li><li>Attend key industry conferences, investor days and market events across Australia and Asia-Pacific</li><li>Deliver timely, accurate reporting under deadline pressure</li><li>Provide forward-looking insight on policy shifts, regulatory developments and market dynamics</li><li>Collaborate with editors, analysts and other contributors where relevant</li></ul></ul></ul><h3>Other Features</h3><ul><ul type="disc"><li>Flexible freelance role with autonomy over content generation and workflow</li><li>Strong exposure to one of the world’s most active infrastructure investment markets (Australia)</li><li>Opportunity to build a high-value niche in energy transition, PPPs, and institutional capital flows</li><li>Ability to shape editorial focus based on sector expertise and contacts</li></ul></ul><h3>Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:</h3><ul><ul type="disc"><li>Proven experience in financial journalism, ideally covering infrastructure finance, energy or project finance markets</li><li>Strong track record of breaking exclusive stories and developing proprietary angles</li><li>Established network of sources across Australian and/or APAC infrastructure marke
