Job Description
<p>The Automotive Vehicles team is searching for a creative and experienced Software Engineer to help us bring <a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/nvidia">NVIDIA</a>'s autonomous vehicle solution out to the world. You will participate in a focused effort to develop and productize ground-breaking solutions that will redefine the world of transportation and the growing field of self-driving cars. You will work with hardworking and dedicated multi-functional engineering development teams across various vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into our AV SW platform, while achieving or exceeding all meaningful <a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/nvidia">NVIDIA</a> and automotive standards &amp; guidelines. As a senior software engineer, your primary role will be to build robust and scalable simulation infrastructure that will enable us to test and validate our self-driving technology over millions of virtual miles.</p><h3>What you will be doing:</h3><ul><li><p>Design, develop, improve and maintain metrics and test sets that support large-scale KPIs and performance measurements for autonomous driving systems.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, test engineering, and release to build and scale test solutions that address gaps in coverage and frameworks and mitigate risks to the project.</p></li><li><p>Build and drive improvements to tools that automate and scale test sets through metrics, data quantity, quality, and diversity, enabling a culture of test-driven development across the company.</p></li><li><p>Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem solving.</p></li><li><p>Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues that affect the performance and reliability of our KPIs and simulation frameworks.</p></li></ul><h3>What we need to see:</h3><ul><li><p>BS (or equivalent experience), MS, or PhD in Engineering or Science field.</p></li><li><p>5+ years of software engineering and data analysis experience, preferably in the field of simulation, autonomous systems, robotics, artificial intelligence or related areas.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in Python and a deep understanding of software engineering practices.</p></li><li><p>Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and technical troubleshooting skills.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability to perform in situations with high ambiguity and competing priorities.</p></li><li><p>Curiosity and a desire to “get into the weeds” of a problem</p></li></ul><h3>Ways to stand out from the crowd:</h3><ul><li><p>Background with scaling the use of autonomous vehicles simulation frameworks.</p></li><li><p>Exp
