<h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li><strong>Design scalable solutions: </strong>Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices with a focus on performance and reliability.</li><li><strong>Deliver high-quality code:</strong> Implement applications following best practices in clean code, testing, and performance optimization.</li><li><strong>Support modern deployment practices:</strong> Work closely with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications and integrate CI/CD pipelines.</li><li><strong>Leverage event-driven architecture:</strong> Use events to build robust, asynchronous systems that support scalability and decoupled services.</li><li><strong>Optimize data interactions:</strong> Design and maintain efficient relational database integrations that ensure data integrity and system responsiveness.</li><li><strong>Contribute to strong engineering standards:</strong> Engage in architectural discussions, perform code reviews, and promote best practices.</li><li><strong>Leverage AI code companions:</strong> Utilize hands-on AI code companions and intelligent development tools to enhance productivity, accelerate development cycles, and maintain code quality standards while staying current with modern development practices.</li><li><strong>Mentor and grow the team:</strong> Experience guiding teams through mentoring, coaching, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and creating a safe, collaborative working environment.</li></ul><ul><li>8+ years of experience in software development</li><li>Good knowledge of Java 17 and the associated patterns (e.g. SOLID principles, Design Patterns, Best practices for code structure: Layered or ports &amp; adapter architecture)</li><li>Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate and Web Services (REST)</li><li>Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Oracle DB, GITLAB, Kubernetes or similar</li><li>Hands-on experience with Unit testing tools like: JUnit, JMeter, ArchUnit<ul><li>Focus on Test driven development and best practices</li></ul></li><li>Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills (debugging, source control)</li><li>Strong communication and consulting skills, including client interaction, pre-sales support, solution design, estimations, and building trust.</li><li>Advanced English language skills</li></ul><p>As a people-first organisation, we believe diversity strengthens our teams and drives innovation.
